Beautiful night in Helsinki with some of our favorite frengers!
Hey frengers. I am sitting in my little cabin on the boat from Stockholm to somewhere in Finland that I don’t know the name of. On the table is a clementine that I brought with me from the backstage area in Stockholm yesterday. I am going to eat that in a minute. Fruit is nature’s candy, don’t you know? The Nordic dates have just been tremendous! like a homecoming. Norway really does feel like a home away from home, I mean we have real history there now, dating back from the Frengers days. But Sweden too is embracing us, although we have not toured there as much, I just have to look out at the audience to know there are plenty of Swedish frengers! We should come back more often.. We will! Helsinki next, can’t believe what a large place we’re playing this time! That goes for all the Scandinavian shows, actually. I look forward to seeing our Finnish frengers again, who have supported us since the early days in Tavastia (still some of my favorite intimate gigs ever, by the way). Gonna get me some sleep now. I won’t be able to send this from here anyway, it’s not that high-tech of a boat. By the way, the clementine was outstanding, I think it’s really benefited from another day ripening on its own. See ya out there!

Live recording misunderstanding
Dear everyone, as you may have heard or read or picked up telepathically there’s been talk about a bunch of live tracks from the Hollywood Palladium to be released exclusively on iTunes. While this all sounds well and good, there has been a slight miscommunication somewhere along the line. We in the band had not planned on releasing any live material for sale, although we may well do this at a later point. As you know we are very particular about our releases (which is partly why we take so damn long making the albums!) and this too is the case with any live releases we might put out. When we do put out live recordings, we want to make certain it’s recorded right, mixed right, that it’s our own show and not a support slot, basically that everything is done the Mew way and upholds our high standards. This particular recording we have not been involved with. We apologize for any confusing we may have caused. Thank you - Mew.

We’re sitting backstage dissecting tonight’s performance. We’ve been fooling around with different setlists, and tonight - I think - was a real winner. Bo managed in turns to compliment and insult the audience which they seemed to enjoy. All in all a fine evening. Unfortunately the “fine beer” which we get in our dressing room is Fosters. I can think of nothing more odious. Next stop: Leeds. Can’t wait…
